The Small Group Ministry here at Heartland Community Church is designed to prepare believers to be the greatest impact for Christ wherever we go and in whatever we do.
Small Groups are for everyone. Below, you will find groups that function Sunday through Saturday with a variety of topics and interests. You will also find that getting connected through small group ministries will be a vital link to the Heartland Church family.
Adult Small Group Ministries

He Says/She Says – (Couples 30 plus)

Grief Recovery
Facilitators: Steve and Starr Holden
Location: Classroom #2,
Topic: This special small group is for those who are seeking help to overcome the grief caused by the loss of a loved one, a relationship, a job or anything that has caused grief in this life. Steve Holden has been trained as a grief recovery chaplain providing help to thousands who have experienced loss in their life. Join us, and start your road to overcoming the grief that stops you from living in freedom.

C.O.R.E. Youth is a great place to meet new people and create healthy friendships. During this time, students take part in honest communication and learn to share their lives with others while developing closer relationships with each other and God. This is a tremendous time of praise and worship – Youth Style.

While parents enjoy the adult service, the little ones are enjoying crafts, singing, stories and games with a friendly and trained staff of teachers who instill scriptural concepts on their level.
Small Groups – (Sunday School)
Using a variety of methods and materials, our teachers challenge boys and girls with an exciting and interactive presentation of the Word of God every week.

With unique care, this special group of children participates in praise and worship, creative Bible studies and hands on activities to bring the word of God to life.

In Kid’s Church, children encounter practical scriptural teaching through a fast paced succession of object lessons, puppets, music, drama, and illustrated stories. They experience their own worship time that challenges them on their level.

After energetic praise and worship with KIDS church, these young soldiers for Christ venture off into their own time of Bible study and crafts. We even provide a snack for your youngins.
1st thru 6th grade
Wild and Wacky Wednesdays – Join us throughout the summer for some incredible fun and activity. Each night, there will be fun filled activities as well as a devotion time.
Bring extra clothes on Wednesday nights!! We will be getting wet!!!
June 4 - Out of School Party/Sundae Party - This night will include Praise & Worship, a Bible Lesson, play time at the playground, games, and other activities to get the kids hyped about a wild and packed summer!
June 11 – Father’s Day Night will include a very special craft as we focus on our Heavenly Father.
June 18 - Wet Wednesday will be an outdoor water night as we get wet with some fun-filled games.
June 25 - No Service @ HCC campus as we will be part of the Decatur Ministerial Association Celebration at
July 2 - Gross Game Night - A night filled with “Get Nasty and Gross” games.
July 9 - Water Night 2 – A bunch of different get wet games.
July 16 - Christmas in July Party as each child will enjoy snow cones, melt ice sculptures, & a lot more! Celebrate that Jesus came for us by celebrating Him!
July 23 - Water Night 3 will be the “War of all Wars!!”
July 30 - Mega Sports Camp
Aug 6 - Giant Popsicle - This will be a night to invite lots of friends as we show off HCC's largest popsicle – coming straight from the
Aug 13 - Not so Great Olympic Games - The summer games of '08 will be in full swing and new to HCC will be our "Not so Great Olympic Games". Lots of wild and crazy games for kids to have fun together!
